Hello old games lovers,
Do you remember Day of the Tentacle? Well, today we celebrate the birthday of his father, Maniac Mansion, the first graphic adventure to feature Bernard Bernoulli, Dr. Fred and the Tentacles, that was released today in 1987, 30 years ago.
The game was a huge revolutions and redefined (if not DEFINED) a genre, that of the point-and-click, in which LucasArts excelled for years. If you’ve never played it you have to go to church and confess your sin, every human being should play MM at least once, it’s a duty for every good gamer. So throw yourself back to the 80s and have fun again, first with this and then with its “son” Day of the Tentacle.
P.S. if you liked it (and if not, again go to confess yourself) the creator, Ron Gilbert has just released Thimbleweed Park. Just give it a go…
I think i played with game most of the time on c64. Without English knowledge 🙂 just with a dictionary. I loved it, but never could finish.
