[Editorial] Guess what’s next on I ❤ Old Games! – 28/07/19

Hello guys,

Well, it’s not very related to the video games world, but I’ve been very busy collecting and playing Magic. That game really got me and I’ve spent a lot of time also playing the Xbox One version of the game. So technically yes, it has something to do with video games. Apart from this I’ve resurrected my Xbox 360 to play some good old Forza Motorsport, waiting to put my hands on FM7. I’ve also played a lot Tyrian on my PC. Brand new laptop 🙂 It cost em a little fortune but my old one is starting to become really old and with a modem limitet to a speed of 4MB is not so useful in 2019. But it’s still a good gaming machine, where I can install all the old DOS games and where I can do all kind of things without having the fear of “damaging” something.

I’ve also read a lot this week, because the high temperatures kept me awake and sweating and made me wake up very ealry in the morning. And sincerely there’s nothing very interesting to do at 6 a.m. apart from sitting on the terrace to read and enjoy the only 1-2 hours of fresh wind (not so fresh actually, but certainly cooler than the 40°C and more in the afternoon)

I’ll be probably buying some old games on GOG.com since I’ve read that there are some interesting deals on some games I’m really interested in, like Patrician, DOOM II + Ultimate Doom and Wolfenstein 3D – Return to Castle Wolfenstein. This is the only way to play them legit since I don’t think I’ll ever put my hands on the physical copies of the games on the oroginal floppy disks. So bad I haven’t bought them back in the 90s…
