When I started collectiong games I couldn’t really tell what were my final goal. A collection og games from every platform, from the 70s to the 90s? Being more “open” to modern games and consoles? Focus my research only on PAL games? Try to build a complete “thematic” collection? These are questions that still today I can’t answer but one thing that I knew back then and that is still valid today is that NES games d to be a central part of my collection. And looking at the figures, the NES games represent the biggest chunk of the games I own. In the end the NES was the console I was born with so it would be strange if the games designed for it weren’t in my collection. As a kid I didn’t have many games and neither my freinds did so I had to “create” my own olympus of games to pick reading reviews and watching playthroughs.
I don’t know why but Karnov is one of the games that stuk with me the most. It is not a “classic” game on the NES, it was not Data East best hit, but was generally well received. It’s a platform game, the genre of reference of the 80s, at least for me and it’s a rather straightforward one, but for reasons that go beyond my comprehension it’s a game that I tried to buy from the beginning, of course at a reasonable price.
I finally got it last year and it’s not part of my 150+ games collection for the NES. Of course I’ve never finished but I’ve just vriefly played when I bought it to check that it was working fine, but it’s one of those game I planned to complete soon, even because it doesn’t look that hard (…right?) so I can finally move it in my still short list of completed games from the immense backlog of “games to beat”.
Do you own this game? Have you ever played it? Tell me more in the comments section, let’s discuss!
This is one of those games that’s frustratingly difficult for me but holds a special place in my young gamer memory. Spent a lot of time with it but never was able to finish it! Fun worlds, fun enemies, and great music!
