Hello old games lovers,
It seems yesterday when I turned 13 and some of my friends began to talk about Baldur’s gate. Well, 20 years have passed and today both me and Baldur’s Gate celebrate their respective birthdays! I’m a bit older than BG but today he’s 20, so let’s celebrate playing it another time!
Together with Diablo and Planescape: Torment I consider Baldur’s Gate one of the three defining isometric RPGs of the Ninteies/early Noughties and for sure the Interplay flaship is my favourite and the one I’ve played the most. For me RPG means almost exclusively Baldur’s Gate and games like this are for me the only RPGs I can play. I know that a lot of fanboys or simply lovers of the genre will turn their nose up and cringe (“and Ultima? and Final Fantasy???”) but I’ve spent so much time on Baldur’s Gate (especially the second game) and so little on the others that will probably remain the best RPG I’ll ever play.
BALDUR’S GATE 2 IS THE BEST GAME EVER MADE!
