[Editorial] Second birthday for I ❤ Old Games!

Hello everybody!

Here we are again to celebrate the second birthday of this blog 🙂

It has changed quite a lot if I look at the first posts. Of course now is in english, even though I don’t know if this is a pro or a con since my english is quite limited. However it was born as a blog dedicated to reviews and the target was to publish 3 reviews per week.

Too optimistic…

First of all because I take more time writing in english than in italian and second because this blog made me enter in a sort of community of gamers, people with different backgrounds and different interests that “contaminated” my contents. So I’ve added editorials, anniversaries of the releases of important games, the columns [RetroPicks] and [Picks of the Month] when I finaly became a collector.; I’ve even tried to restore or modify old consoles 🙂

Thanks to the support to all of you we’ve built a small army of followers, almost 450 at the moment and the daily clicks are improving day after day giving me a good kick in the ass to keep going writing about what I love. The new challenges for this upcoming third year are already scheduled: one os the [52 Weeks Challenge] begun in january, another one is the column [Versus] that was supposed to start in January as well but has been delayed due to the infamous lack of time. I’m even planning something about the huge category of movies converted into games. If you find the idea interesting I think I could try to publish something. Of course even my hunt for retro games is always active and I relaly hope to fill the immense gaps I have regarding the mandatory games that defined this wonderful world.

Another thing that I’m working on in the background is my Resident Evil Project: the goal is to collect all the games and all the dirrente editions of this incredible series, the one I love the most. There will be soon a dedicated page in this blog bu I still have to think about how to organize it. Any idea is more than welcome. 🙂

The biggest challenge, of course is always to keep this place entertaining and with quality stuff. I know that I’d probably need to move to the U.S., U.K., Canada or Australia to properly speak good english and I really hope this is a thing I will do sooner or later (better sooner than later…).

So, full steam ahed for this third year!

  3. Congratulations on continuing the blog for another year. I have been enjoying the 52 Weeks Challenge and the Forbidden Games series, so I am interested in seeing these continue. I also find it interesting reading about obtaining games that I have previously played or have been interested in. I would find it interesting reading about games based on films, I have enjoyed games based on films (such as Goldeneye, Toy Story, Quantum of Solace, Jurassic Park, etc.) and would be interested to read reviews about how well these games reflected the original films.
What were you intending the Versus column to be like? What are you hoping to do for the Resident Evil games?
Good luck for the coming year.

Versus is an upcoming column in which I will compare the same game but on different platforms. At the moment I have some posts almost finished.
Regarding the RE games the goal is to collect all the titles for all the platforms…
