[Editorial] Guess what’s next on I ❤ Old Games! – 11/02/18

Hello guys,

I’ve spent last week trying to reorganize my small colletion. Now I finally managed to squeeze everything is a single library and I’ve eve freed a small room for future acquisitions: spo now anytime I look at my library, it gives me a subliminal message “buy, buy, buy”. I’ve checked carefully even the consoles I’ve bought last week: the PS1 is working perfectly, while for the Xbox and for the Wii there will to clean something. The Wii is actrually working but the sensor bas has the wire cut in one part and, even though it has been (kinda) repaired, it doesn’t work: no problem, I’ve already bought a new compatible sensor bar for like 4€. Regardsing the Xbox, everyhting looks like in working order but the laser might need a clean, since it has some problems reading the discs. I’ve just bought (even for other purpose) a complete set of screwdrivers with which I can even finally restore the Nintendo DS Lite with some screen issues. The Xbox 360 is still a mystery since I don’t have the power supply to test it. I’ve found a cable for the original Xbox 360 but I’ll need an adapter because every 360 model has a different plug. Damn Bill Gates…

I’m really impatient to fully restore both of the consoles, especially the Xbox, that I’ve never tried before. I’m very curious to try some games and I also hope to find a power supply for the 360 that, as the seller told me, is modded with tons of game installed.

Since apparently all the markets near my town have some hidden gems, today I’ll be driving in Mantova for the first market of the year. It’s held once per month and it’s really big and being the first of the year probably there will be more stuff that people accumulated during the winter and the Christmas holidays, who knows 🙂

On the gaming side I’m trying to overcome my fear of Resident Evil and I’ve forced myself to play it alone during the night. I’m lucky that the 4th episode is not scary and horror as the first three but I always have shivers down my spine anytime I open a door. The game seems quite long, even because I’k proceeding very carefully and I wait before taking every further step and at the moment I’m at the end of the second part of the first chapter. So there’s still a lot to play and a lot of occasions to shit my pants.

I leave a bit of suspence but I can anticipate that in the last days I’ve increased the size of my collection: something purchased, something donated. You’ll see 🙂
