Hello guys,
These are hard times.
With my job demanding more and more of my time and of course the time I want to dedicate to my gf and to everything that concerns running a normal life, like having the house clean, cook something dor lunch and dinner and oyu know…sleep a little bit I really have no more free time. Unfortunately my better half doesn’t share my passion of retro gaming with me so when I have some spare time of course I dedicate it to her and I won’t be playing games or doing related stuff. I’m not complaining about it, it’s just to point out that this period of the year is draining a lot of energies out of me and when I have time to rest I prefer to spend it with my love.
This means that, beside writing on my blog, something I can do even during lunchtime when I’m not home, I’ve made no progress in playing games. And my backlog is getting bigger and bigger since every month a new bunch of games arrive home and the only thing I can do is watch them, put them in the place where they belong an wait for better times to play them.
I’ve been reading a lot lately and I quiclky finished the last Retro Gamer issue I’ve received. This means that now I can start to read again The Ultimate History of Video Games, a book that lied on my nightstand for months. And after having passed the first (a bit boring) part about pinball machines now the thigs are getting more interesting with the history of how Atari killed the market with their VCS.
During the week I’ve added to my collection of games Gauntlet, this time for Sega Master System so now I have another game of which I can compare different versions.
I’m always looking forward for Speccy games and old home computers and I really would like fo find a cheap video capture device. I’ve spoken with some of you during the months about it and it looks like I have to spend quita a small fortune to buy a reliable one. Last week I’ve bought one that is probably faulty because I can get a video but with a huge lag and with a trembling and flickering image.
Maybe Santa Claus will help…
