Hello old games lovers,
In these days when the rumors for a possible GameBoy Mini start to be persistent, it’s with perfect timing that I announce you the birthday of one of the Mario classics for Nintendo famouns handheld, Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins, released in Japan today, October 21st, 1992. The game revolutionized the gameplay and with its 4 MBit cartridge it was one of the most demanding back then. And it was also remarkable for the first appearence of Mario’s antagonist Wario.
So time to remove the dust from your GameBoy and give it a try again!

this is by far one of the greatest handheld games ever made. one of my personal favorite mario games too

I have played this game. I remember it was very different from the first game in the series, with the player able to save the game and select the order of levels to complete. I remember I enjoyed the different themed levels and finding all the secret levels (along with the changes to the game caused by completing these levels). I particularly liked the design of level set within the whale from Turtle Zone.
What was your favourite zone from the game? What was the purpose of the level located opposite the path to the hippo that led to Space Zone?Have you played the later Wario Land games?

Happy Birthday to a great game! I enjoyed this one for using the beloved Super Mario World visuals in Game-Boy form. Also, for Rabbit Mario. And that Moon level. 🙂
