[Happy Birthday!] Super Mario Kart

Hello old games lovers,

Sometimes a video game saga is so popular that making a spin-off is mandatory, but is also true that in most of cases the results are not so encouraging. Well Nintendo was a pioneer even in this field and when 25 years ago, on August 27th, 1992 they released Mario Kart, maybe they didn’t think that the Kart series would have sold millions and millions of copies. The last “Kart” to hit the marked was 2016’s Mario 8 Deluxe for the Switch, another great success for the big N. Today is more common to see popular gaming mascot wear the helmet in a kart racing game but back in the SNES era this was something new and Mario Kart was a breakthrough.

So let’s celebrate Mario (again) this time not for its skills in finding damsels in distress…
